Pascoe and Humble show true class! - 22/06/09

Portreath's Rach Pascoe and Dan Humble showed their true class this weekend by winning the Eliminator at Goldcoast Oceanfest.

Pascoe entered the final swim leg a good 60m down on British Ski champion Jenna Hawkey, but swam herr down to run under the Muller Rice arch and be crowned Legacy Events series leader!

Second place went to Eva Murphy of Woolacombe with third place going to team mate and up and coming youngster Ellie Parker. Both girls producing swims to be proud of as they passed the early race leader Hawkey.

Humble on the other hand led from Gun to tape although 2008 British Iron man champion Robbie Sandbach gave him a superb race. Both athletes were locked together on the Ski and Board legs with Sandbach probably the favourite going into the final swim leg. However Humble hung on to him like glue and they hit the beach together. As both stood to muster up their final efforts, it was Humble with more juice left in the tank that sprinted clear to take the honours.

Both Pascoe and Humble will wear the yellow series leader jerseys at Race 2 - Surf Relief on the 18th July at Watergate Bay.
